Meet Your Provider

Dr. Jay Maxwell is a Naturopathic Doctor dedicated to helping you take control of your health — naturally. A longtime resident of Queen Creek and San Tan Valley, he’s passionate about giving back to the community he’s called home for over 21 years.

With 15 years in the medical field, he has seen how conventional care often stops at symptom management. His approach is different: he focuses on root-cause healing through nutraceuticals, lifestyle medicine, and natural therapies — turning to pharmaceuticals only when truly necessary.

Blending advanced training in functional medicine, pain management, and holistic healing from Sonoran University with a lifelong passion for sports and movement, Dr. Maxwell helps patients optimize performance, relieve chronic pain, and restore vitality.

Whether you’re seeking more energy, better mobility, or long-term wellness, his goal is simple: to listen, guide, and empower you to feel your best — naturally.

My approach with my patients

I take a root-cause, patient-centered approach to healthcare—focused on understanding why symptoms are occurring, restoring healthy function, and supporting the body’s natural ability to heal.

My philosophy is simple: support the body first. Rather than immediately treating symptoms with medication alone, I look deeper at factors such as nutrition, hormones, metabolic health, inflammation, gut health, stress, sleep, movement, and lifestyle. From there, I develop an individualized plan using evidence-informed nutrition, lifestyle medicine, targeted supplementation, and integrative and regenerative therapies when appropriate.

I incorporate Direct Primary Care because I believe good medicine requires time, access, and a strong physician-patient relationship. The traditional healthcare model can often feel rushed and fragmented. Direct Primary Care allows me to spend more time with patients, focus on prevention and early intervention, provide greater continuity of care, and make healthcare more personal and accessible.

Conventional medicine also has an important role. When medications, diagnostic testing, imaging, specialist care, or conventional treatment are appropriate, I incorporate them thoughtfully and responsibly. The goal is not to choose between natural and conventional medicine—it is to use the right approach for the right patient at the right time.

By combining Direct Primary Care, naturopathic medicine, functional medicine, and modern medical care, my goal is to provide healthcare that is proactive rather than reactive, helping you identify problems earlier, address their underlying drivers, and build a foundation for better health and long-term wellness.

Maximum Wellness is a self-pay practice and does not bill or accept health insurance.

This allows us to provide more individualized care without treatment decisions being limited by insurance requirements, visit restrictions, or coverage limitations.
